Frequently Asked Questions
Should I consider doing some of the drywall myself to save money?
This depends on your skillset. Doing a poor job could end up costing you more money if we need to make any corrections.

What preparations need to be made before High Mountain Drywall begins?
• All wall framing must be in place, square, and secure. Any bowed or damaged studs should be fixed beforehand. Insure all needed backing is in place in ceiling and wall corners.
• Don't install electrical outlets or switches and remove all plumbing fixtures, electrical & HVAC cover plates.
• Clear the space by removing any and all furniture if possible. The drywall process is very messy. Any belongings you would like to keep clean should be stored away. You might want to seal off adjacent rooms or cover vents to prevent dust from spreading throughout your home.
• Maintain a stable indoor temperature (typically 50°F or higher) for proper drying of joint compound later.

How does High Mountain Drywall handle dust and cleanup?
For in home remodel projects where the customer remains living in the home, High Mountain Drywall will use plastic to section of the area we are working to reduce the amount of dust that may spread during the process. Keep in mind, drywall dust will spread no matter the level of effort made to reduce it. Standard drywall cleanup involves scraping and sweeping floors. Beyond this standard, High Mountain Drywall will run a vacuum along the corners of the floors to remove dust buildup.

Do you offer a warranty or guarantee of the work?
High Mountain Drywall guarantees the quality of our work with a 1 year warranty on all labor and material supplied and performed by High Mountain Drywall. No warranty is guaranteed if site temperatures of 50º aren't maintained throughout the duration of the drywall process.

Is there a square footage rate I can use to quickly estimate what it will cost?
We can’t simply bid every job using a generic square footage rate because each project has unique variables that affect time, materials, labor, and complexity. Applying a one-size-fits-all rate risks underbidding (losing money) or overbidding (losing the job to competitors or you drastically over paying). Read more about why a generic rate doesn’t work.
